Job Description

As the Executive Director of the public consulting firm, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the growth and success of our organization. You will be responsible for developing and executing strategic initiatives to drive business expansion, increase revenue, and establish the firm as a leading player in the public consulting sector. The ideal candidate will possess a strong entrepreneurial spirit, outstanding communication and negotiation skills, and a proven track record of achieving business development goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive business development strategy aligned with the company’s vision and objectives.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with prospective clients.
  • Implement effective sales strategies to generate new leads, convert prospects into clients, and secure contracts.
  • Set key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor business development progress and assess the success of initiatives.
  • Regularly report to the executive team on the firm’s performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Develop comprehensive proposals and submit bids against workable RFPs.
  • Conduct in-depth research and data analysis on various public sector issues to inform evidence-based decision-making.
  • Oversee and manage the execution of consulting projects from start to finish. Ensure that projects are delivered within scope, on time, and within budget.
  • Collaborate with project teams to address challenges and maintain project quality.
  • Represent the company to potential clients for marketing and selling expertise
  • Oversee day-to-day operations of the Consulting firm.
  • Develop partnerships with International Consulting bodies and groups.
  • Review, monitor, and evaluate the financial performance against the business plan of the Consulting firm.
  • Prepare regular reports on the consulting division’s performance, achievements, and challenges for the Chairman.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field. MBA preferred.
  • Proven 5 years’ experience in business development, preferably within the consulting industry or public sector.
  • In-depth knowledge of the public consulting domain, including an understanding of government processes and regulations.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and guide a team toward achieving ambitious goals.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Demonstrated success in securing new business opportunities and closing deals.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret market data and make data-driven decisions.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
